Wyoming Spring Turkey, Nonresident Elk Hunting Applications Due By Feb. 1st

CASPER, Wyo — Spring turkey and nonresident elk hunting applications are due by Feb 1, Wyoming Game and Fish announced.

The spring turkey season opens April 1 in the Powder River Management Area, which includes all of Campbell, Johnson and Sheridan counties.

All other hunt areas open April 20.  All hunt areas close for the season May 31.

Applicants can apply for only one turkey license, with a bag limit of one turkey, before the drawing is complete. After the initial drawing, a person may apply for up three wild turkey licenses valid for the season, provided that at least two of those are Limited Quota Type 3 licenses, Game and Fish said.

All applicants will have the ability to make a voluntary donation to Wildlife Crossing, an initiative that funds projects to reduce wildlife and vehicle collisions. Each year, more than 6,000 big game animals are killed on the roads, Game and Fish said.
